Disgust and disappointment in people

I hate to say it but a lot of people that I've known over the years have really shown me a bad side the last few years...bigotry, a lack of respect for veterans, dishonesty. Usually social media is a great thing but sometimes, it can really shatter your view of a person. There are people who I would've  loved getting to see in the past who I would be happy never seeing again. Not that I want anything to happen to them but seeing them, knowing they aren't as good of people as I used to think they were...I wouldn't feel comfortable around them. Add to that the anxiety I've dealt with much of my whole life, and spending time alone at home is a lot easier than anything else.

The facts on Paterno and the Sandusky case

People keep forgetting facts about the case...or else are as lazy as Trump supporters when it comes to paying attention  to the facts.
Mike McQueary witnessed what happened  in the showers involving a boy and an adult male who was no longer employed  by the university  but given permission to be there for his charity work by the athletic director and did nothing to stop it. He went to his father instead and they went to Joe the next day. He gave Joe a vague account of what he saw, which Paterno took to Tim Curley, the athletic director, Graham Spanier, the University  President, and Tim Schultz, the head of the police department. In addition to relaying what he was told, he referred them to the witness for more details. Little to nothing was done after it left Paterno's hands.
Could he have done more? Sure...he could have pressed for more details on what McQueary saw...he could have asked his superiors if anything came of the investigation. He could have and should have done more and Paterno was the 1st to say so but at the same time, he did what he was required to with the little information  he was given.
What about McQueary? Why didn't  he step in to stop what was happening? McQueary  wasn't a weakling...he was a former football player and he could have easily stopped a retiree from molesting a child. Also, considering  he knew what happened  from witnessing it, why did he not call another police department  if he saw Sandusky after he reported what he saw?
Gary Schultz, the head of the police department didn't  have Sandusky arrested even after talking to Paterno and McQueary.
Tim Curley told McQueary that Sandusky would be banned from using Penn State facilities  for his Second Mile charity...yet McQueary saw him there afterwards. Sandusky hadn't  been employed there in 2 years so he had no business  there.
Graham Spanier didn't  talk to McQueary about what Paterno told him.
Paterno, McQueary, Schultz, Curley, and Spanier all could have and should have done more...but out of the 5, Paterno is the only one who did do what he was required to do. He's not a hero for that...there are no heroes in this...but he's  no villain either. The only reason he gets painted as one is his fame.
Few people outside  of Penn State fans had ever heard of any of the other 4 before this case and even fewer know anything about their involvement  to this day.
These are proven facts in this case, according to investigative reporting, the results of criminal cases against Sandusky, Schultz, Spanier, and Curley. The Freeh Report was commissioned  by the Board of Trustees to convince the public they were doing something  about it but no interviews  were conducted in putting it together  and the results of that report were debunked by the State Attorney General.
Many people actually  think Paterno was the witness...that he was McQueary. Some actually  think Paterno was the perpetrator...that he was Sandusky. A lot think that he should have fired Sandusky...even though Sandusky retired over a year before the shower incident.
People are fucking ignorant and don't  care enough about things to actually learn the truth.

Confederate flags and monuments coming down

Recently, cities across the US have begun taking down Confederate flags and monuments from places of honor and here's what I have to say about it...It's about damn time.
Now it's true that the Civil War wasn't strictly fought over slavery but slavery was a huge reason for secession. Southern leaders were afraid that Lincoln would abolish slavery and they couldn't handle that they couldn't keep him out of office. Yeah, they and their apologists claim it was about state's rights but outside of the right to enslave people of a different skin color, what rights were they worried about losing?
The war itself was a different story...slavery was a factor but people in the North owned slaves as well but didn't leave the country. The war started when Confederates fired upon a Union fort, Fort Sumter. That's treason. Even if you buy into the idea that they were acting as agents of a different country instead of firing upon their countrymen, they attacked the United States.
No one is talking about taking mentions of their deeds out of history books and, to my knowledge, they aren't destroying the statues. They're taking them down from places of honor...period. Does it make sense to honor traitors to the United States? Are there statues of Benedict Arnold up all over the place? Critics are blowing things out of proportion by saying it's removing history. Those statues simply belong in museums and at historical sites...not in places of honor in a country they fought against. Learning history is a must and museum trips are a must for a child's upbringing but giving reverence and honor to people who attacked the United States is not only stupid, it's unpatriotic.
If you really wanna get down to it, if not for Lincoln's compassion and desire to heal the nation, they could've all been charged with treason and hanged. I don't think we have monuments up to celebrate other criminals. Is there a Timothy McVeigh monument in Oklahoma City?

Trump following Hitler's model

Saw this on Facebook and it couldn't be more accurate.
Step one for Hitler was to discredit the media.• Step two was to silence scientists and government employees.• Hate crimes against minorities grew to the highest in their country’s history. Clashes between parties became so extensive that Hitler ended civil liberties (Step three), giving “law and order” as the cause. Those who opposed Hitler were ridiculed and threatened.• In Step Four wealthy supporters purchased media outlets, employing only those faithful to the ruling party.• In his final step (Step Five) Hitler declared that the only way the country could be unified was to restore traditional values. Minorities including gays, the disabled, Jews, Roma, and people of color were considered “inferior” and sent to death camps for slaughter. We're between Step 2-4.This is in case you were always confused by how so many people could go along with Hitler's Final Solution, this is exactly how it happened. And in case you were confused or bothered by people comparing Trump to Hitler. This is why!

My hot 50

  • Alyssa Milano..actress...star of Charmed...you could tell she'd be beautiful when she was on Who's The Boss and she proved everyone right...she's continued to be beautiful physically and as a person over the years...says a lot on Twitter that I not only agree with, but applaud
  • Amelia Draper...meteorologist in Washington DC...Penn State alum...1st saw her when she was working in Erie and some buddies and I were having lunch on our way to Canton. Then she came to Buffalo and I was lucky enough to meet her and she turned out to be even prettier in person
  • Amy Gumenick...actress...1st saw her on Supernatural but then she lit up the TV  screen again as Cupid on Arrow
  • Angela Christoforos...reporter in Buffalo....Greek ethnicity...there's just something about her gorgeous eyes
  • Anna Kendrick...actress who I never saw in anything until Lip Sync Battle...cute and has a wicked sense of humor
  • April Scott...actress, model...1st saw her in Dukes of Hazzard The Beginning as Daisy Duke. Growing up, I had a crush on the 1st Daisy but April was far better, IMO. Jessica Simpson was just too over the top sexy to be realistic as a girl-next-door type and Catherine Bach was too Southern for me to relate to. April was just as sexy as Jessica without being so over the top about it and was Southern enough for the role but still relatable to me. She follows me on Twitter and Instagram
  • Ariana Grande...absolutely gorgeous singer who hasn't always thought things out before speaking...saying she hated America when she meant that she hated that there is so much obesity in America...saying she's the hardest working 23 year old in the world...on that, I'm not saying she's not, but it's a pretty bold statement to make....not all bad...she can be incredibly kind and gracious and can get fired up when she's wronged, like when a fan of her boyfriend objectified her right in front of her.
  • Ashley Benson...admittedly, it's more for her physical beauty than anything else...1st saw her in a guest spot on Supernatural
  • Brittany Spears...was hot when she 1st broke into the scene and almost 20 years later, she's even hotter
  • Caity Lotz...plays Sara Lance, first on Arrow and now as the captain of the Waverider on Legends of Tomorrow. The freckle-faced blonde brings both men and women to their knees.
  • Candice Patton...plays Iris West on the Flash. There have been a lot of people of color filling roles of comic characters that have always been white... Candace's beauty and acting have been the story, not her skin color.
  • Cassandra Scerbo...while I first saw her in a Bring It On movie, she 1st caught my attention as Nova Clarke in the Sharknado movies, a bartender whose hatred of sharks is ingrained in her ever since an attack took her grandfather. Cassie's character is the most well-developed of all the characters in those movies and I doubt any other actress could do the role as well. Outside of acting, she's big on charitable endeavors and is the vice-president of the Boo2Bullying foundation. Also, she follows me on Twitter.
  • Chrissy Teigen...a supermodel married to John Legend who I admittedly paid no attention to until a year ago when I caught Lip Sync Battle, where she serves as the colorful commentator. Her humor is a great part of the show and her Twitter feed shows her to be a lot more than just a pretty face.
  • Chloe Bennett...actress who plays Skye/Daisy/Quake on Agents of SHIELD
  • Clare Kramer...played in the 1st Bring It On movie and then as the hellgod Glorificus in Buffy The Vampire Slayer...hasn't aged a day since
  • Danielle Panabaker...Plays Dr Caitlin Snow on the Flash
  • Debbie Gibson..pop superstar from the late 80s...still gorgeous and follows me on Twitter
  • Eliza Dushku...actress from Bring It On, Buffy, Tru Calling, and Dollhouse to name a few
  • Emily Bett Rickard...actress who plays Felicity Smoak on Arrow
  • Janina Gavankar...played McKenna Hall on Arrow and now plays Homeland Security Agent Diana Thomas on Sleepy Hollow
  • Jenna Dewan Tatum...actress and dancer who played Lucy Lane on Supergirl
  • Jessica Alba...actress and business leader. Played in Dark Angel, Into the Blue, Fantastic Four, and Good Luck Chuck to name a few...still as gorgeous as ever and founded and leads the Honest Company
  • Jessica Camacho...actress who played FBI agent Sophie Foster on Sleepy Hollow and Gypsy on the Flash
  • Jessica Collins...actress who's mostly known for soaps but also played Tru's older sister Meredith on Tru Calling
  • Joanna Krupa.. Supermodel who's big on animal welfare...She teamed with Terrell Owens in Superstars the summer of 2009...she and her husband both follow me on Twitter and Instagram
  • Julianne Hough...singer, dancer and actress from Dancing with the Stars and from Rock of Ages
  • Kaley Cuoco...actress who's played on 8 Simple Rules and Charmed...now stars as Penny on Big Bang Theory
  • Katie Cassidy...the daughter of 70s icon David Cassidy, she's an actress with roles on Supernatural and Melrose Place before starring as Laurel Lance on Arrow
  • Katrina Law..actress who currently stars in Training Day after portraying the beautiful but deadly Nyssa Al Ghul on Arrow...big on animal charities, especially Kitt Crusaders
  • Katy Perry...singer
  • Kristin Kreuk..actress who played Lana Lang on Smallville and starred in the TV series Beauty and the Beast
  • Krysten Ritter...actress who I first saw when playing the "bitchy friend" on She's Out Of My League and as beautiful as Alice Eve is, Krysten is just as beautiful, IMO...she now plays Jessica Jones in the Netflix series
  • Laura Vandervoort...played Supergirl on Smallville, Lisa on V, and Elena on Bitten and even made an appearance on Supergirl as Indigo. Those incredible blue eyes of hers could suck any guy in
  • Lauren Brill...speaking of incredible eyes, Lauren's beautiful brown eyes were mesmerizing me  for a couple of years when she did sports on WIVB...she treats the subjects of her stories as people instead of stats and can make even baseball highlights seem exciting. Met her briefly a couple of times at Bandits games before she left for Cleveland.
  • Maisie Richard-Sellers...plays Vixen on Legends of Tomorrow
  • Malese Jow...admittedly, I watched the Vampire Diaries for a couple of seasons before it just got too angst-filled and that's where I saw Malese Jow playing a vampire. Since then, I saw her in a Lifetime movie once before she became Linda Park on The Flash
  • Marissa Bailey...news anchor in Chicago who I first saw when she was at WGRZ in Buffalo. Has a bit of a Marilyn Monroe vibe about her with the curves and was easily my favorite anchor before she left, not only for her beauty but the way she mixed her personality with professionalism. Met her once before a Bills open practice and she's every bit as gorgeous in person as she is on air.
  • Marta Krupa...younger sister of Joanna Krupa who shares her love of animals and is every bit as gorgeous...engaged to Indy Car driver Marco Andretti
  • Masiela Lusha...played Carmen on the George Lopez Show and has had roles in a variety of films and on TV. She joined the Sharknado series with #4 as Gemini and is supposed to be in #5 alongside Cassie Scerbo, whose character Nova seems to be an idol of Gemini's
  • Melissa Benoist...plays Supergirl and while I originally thought she was merely cute, her sign at the Women's March on January 21 took her to knockout status in my book.
  • Mila Kunis...never watched That 70s Show but she took my breath away in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and in Friends With Benefits
  • Natalie Portman...Star Wars prequels, Thor, No Strings Attached...this petite beauty always captures the screen
  • Nina Dobrev...another I found on Vampire Diaries....breathtaking beauty and she brought even the devout Tim Tebow to his knees on Lip Sync Battle
  • Noureen Deowulf...wife of NHL goalie Ryan Miller who was a star on the Charlie Sheen series Anger Management
  • Paula Abdul...former Laker Girl turned choreographer turned singer. Still a knockout nearly 30 years later...follows me on Twitter
  • Ryan Newman...took over the role of Claudia Shepard in the Sharknado films and actually looked 5 years older between #3 and #4 thanks to make-up and wardrobe. She was beautiful in #3 but blew it out of the water the following film. Any guy would be smitten with those gorgeous blue eyes of hers.
  • Sara Jean Underwood...while a few on this list have appeared in Playboy, Sara is the only one to have made her claim to fame because of it...as the 2007 Playmate of The Year...the hottest Playmate ever, IMO and still breathtaking a decade later
  • Scarlett Johansson...curvy actress who would be viewed as one of the hottest actresses on the planet no what era she's in...plays Natasha Romanov in the Avengers films
  • Selena Gomez...gorgeous pop star who, for some reason, was romantically linked to one of the biggest douchebags in entertainment for years...thankfully her tastes have improved
  • Taylor Swift...leggy blonde who started off singing country but transitioned to pop
